Media Contact: Don Zimmerman Appointed Arby's Chief Information Officer ATLANTA (September 1, 2005) - Technology veteran Don Zimmerman has joined Arby's Restaurant Group, Inc. (ARG) as Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer. In his new position, Zimmerman will oversee the strategic and operational IT infrastructure of the company, including the integration of ARG systems following the recent acquisition of Arby's® largest franchisee. "Technology is not an option when operating a restaurant company. Don brings a wealth of technical knowledge and leadership to this position which will prove invaluable to both us, and our franchisees, in enhancing our technical system architecture," said Doug Benham, CEO and President, Arby's Restaurant Group, Inc. With more than 23 years of technology experience, Zimmerman most recently served as Vice President of IT for the Sears Information Technology organization where he was responsible for Solutions Delivery, a function that architected, developed, and implemented all technology based solutions for the Sears Enterprise. He also acted as enterprise CIO and held the top IT post for the Sears Credit, Home Services, and Customer Care Network units. Additional internal IT responsibilities included enterprise architecture, telecommunications, and enterprise managed services. Prior to joining Sears, he spent twelve years with Frito-Lay, Inc. and PepsiCo Foods International, both based in Dallas. His responsibilities ranged from systems and technical development to data center and help desk operations as well as internal solutions consulting. Zimmerman holds a BBA in Accounting from Evangel University in Springfield, Missouri and an MBA in Management from the University of North Texas. He is a member of the Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP). Zimmerman, his wife and three daughters reside in Atlanta.
