Media Contact: Amy Alarcon Named Director Of Product Development For Arby's® Arby's Continues to Build World Class R&D Culinary TeamFT. LAUDERDALE (March 28, 2005) - Arby's, LLC has named Amy Alarcon as Director of Product Development for its 3,450 restaurants worldwide. She will be responsible for the conceptualization and creation of new products to add to the growing list of Arby's unique product offerings. Alarcon is a seasoned executive with over 19 years of culinary, R&D and hospitality experience. For the past nine years, she served as director of R&D for Taco Cabana under the Carrols Corporation, an operator of Pollo Tropical and a large Burger King franchisee. She also worked for AFC Enterprises as R&D Manager where she was responsible for culinary product development on the Church's Chicken brand. Alarcon holds a degree in Culinary Arts from The School of Culinary Arts in Atlanta. She is a member of the Research Chef's Association and the Women's Foodservice Forum. "Amy's knowledge of the restaurant industry, coupled with her research and development track record and innovative product ideas, make her the ideal person to join our team," said Jeff Blackmun, Vice President of Product Development for Arby's. Alarcon joins Corporate Executive Chef Neville Craw and Senior Food Technologist Gerry Wancho on the Arby's Product Development team. Chef Craw, who became a member of the Arby's team in August 2004, has a breadth of experience both in chain account and manufacturing product development having worked previously as Corporate Chef, Product Development for Gold Kist, Inc. in Atlanta, and Grecian Delight Foods, Inc. in Elk Grove, IL. Chef Craw has also worked for several fine dining restaurants in Boston and San Francisco. He graduated from The California Culinary Academy in San Francisco, and also holds a BS Degree in Advertising and Marketing from Boston University.
